Viviendo la buena vida. (Livin' the good life)

Long story short, life here in spain is amazing so far.  We arrived in Madrid a couple days ago, and it turns out our hotel was right in the main plaza of the city.  The first night we went out to a pub and had just a few drinks with a bunch of people in API (the program that we're doing).  Everyone here is super cool and extremely friendly and excited for the semester.  The next night was ridiculous though and we went to La fontana de oro (fountain of gold) and had a Brugal party (rum and cokes) for 4 euro.  The drinks in spain are no joke-real strong.  Ollie and I then headed to a different bar with the two allie's who we call Allie Squared to see what the "funny stuff" was all about.   There are a ton of promoters who are handing out promotions to the different bars...and one of the promotions said rap, house, super pop, and funny stuff. We found this quite comical and just had to see what the funny stuff was all about.  On our way we met some Slovanian kids who were mad chill and when we got to the club they bought us all a drink.  The DJ there was real good-he played a ton of classic american songs that were all remixed into some fresh club mixes.  My favorite part of this club was a dude who was jamming out on a bongo the whole time.  Sahil, sean, nick, and a bunch of other API kids all ended up at this club too and we danced for no joke from about 2-5 in the morning. Spanish clubs and bars stay open madddd late here.  We arrived in Seville yesterday and i'm in love already.  Our residencia is huge, and our house family is awesome. We went out the first night last night to a bar nearby where we lived and had some celebratory drinks.  Met a ton of Spaniards already and unlike Madrid-they were all super friendly and social.  We went on a bike tour this morning and toured seville-this place is amazing.  The river is beautiful and the city is unlike anything i've ever seen before.  The streets are lined with orange and lemon trees as well as palm trees.  Its january and it was no joke 65 degrees last night.  Unlike Toledo and Madrid-tons and tons of people here have dogs which is really cool.  It is a very homey place and i'm falling in love with it already.  After the bike tour we went to the API office and had a meeting with a seville travel agent dude.  Definitely going to everything they offer-it's all very cheap and looks amazing.  Camel rides through the Sarah desert, the carnival of cadiz (half a million person party), beach weekend in lagos (portugal)-includes surfing, hotel, dinners, alch, everything. Also, monkey sightseeing in gibraltar...the list goes on and on.  My video camera hasn't been charged and more importantly i've been lazy about bringing it around and accounting for stuff but i'll try to be better about it soon.  I don't know if you can tell, but i'm loving every minute of this trip so far.  I'll upload what video I have a little bit later! Thanks for reading.

First Post

So I figured what better way to account for this epic journey than a video blog? Just gonna test out how this works by attempting to post a related video about the spanish exchange i went on in senior year of high school.  Once I'm over there and I get some good footage..this blog should get interesting.
